Advanced 5 Axis - Deburring cycle | 2022.1
EDGECAM 2022.1 adds another machining strategy to the Advanced 5-Axis Cycle. The new ‘Deburring’ strategy will automatically detect sharp edges and creases on a solid model and create a dynamic toolpath removing all unwanted burrs. As components parts are now “burr-free” customers can be assured that the quality of their products will increase for little or no extra time burden.
The majority of machining cycles and manufacturing environments benefit from new Dynamic Holder Collision Avoidance. Dynamic Holder Collision Avoidance automatically collision checks the initial toolpath. Where collisions are found between the holder and the target solid model, stock and fixture - the toolpath is removed. The cycle intelligently re-links the toolpath and continus to machine the component.
EDGECAM’s best in class multipart machining module has been further improved to support component parts with Five-Axis simultaneous toolpaths. This is another example of responding to customer needs as the amount of Five-Axis style components steadily increases. A further Tombstone enhancement will result in shorter cycles times as customer may now control the manner in which each and every movement is performed during tool changes.
Waveform Rough Turn cycle now offers “Swarf Clearance”. Using the same technoogy found in the Rough Turning Cycle, users can now automatically retire the tool to a safe position, in order for excess swarf to be cleared. This can be specified in either number of passes or time. The "Corner Type" option has been added to the cycle, allowing users greater toolpath control.
EDGECAM is a market leading computer aided manufacturing (CAM) system for NC part programming. With unparalleled ease of use and sophisticated toolpath generation, it’s the only CAM system you’ll need for milling, turning and mill-turn machining. The Rough Grooving cycle now offers the ability to force the groove tool to take an extra cut next to a steep or vertical walls. This means that the potential for uneven stock amounts is removed and thus guarantees safer machining conditions for Finishing toolpaths.

EDGECAM 2022.1 sees no fewer than three new performance boosting enhancements. "Chip Prevention” function has been enhanced to include its own specific Feedrate. A new “Chip Avoid Rollover” setting has been added, aimed at producing better toolpaths when machining thin wall sections and narrow channels. The introduction of “Automatic Start point” means that the cycle mow intelligently selects the best toolpath entry position.
